Mission Backbone for Transition, Resilience, and Defence Innovation
The b6 defence foundation is a registered, non-profit association that brings together individuals, organizations, and companies committed to strengthening security, resilience, and “total defence” in Europe. We combine operator DNA, a military mindset, and market know-how with practical programs that deliver real-world impact: supporting the transition of service members into civilian careers, enabling resilience and security projects in communities and municipalities, and advancing research and education in the field of defence innovation. As a non-profit recipient of proceeds and donations from the broader b6 ecosystem, we provide a stable “mission backbone” — transparent, impact-driven, and designed for long-term continuity — so that strong intent becomes measurable outcomes.

Our Purpose
We pursue exclusively and directly non-profit purposes. The association consolidates three core impact areas:

Transition & Careers: Training, scholarships, coaching, and mentoring to support service members and veterans in moving from the armed forces/authorities into civilian industry.

Resilience in Society & Municipalities: Promotion of practical projects that strengthen protection, preparedness, crisis capability, and civil-military cooperation (e.g., ZMZ-oriented approaches).

Research & Education in Defence Innovation: Support for educational formats and applied research, including wargaming, cyber resilience, crisis management, and operational decision-making.
Our Goals
We operate with an outcomes-first approach and publish regular updates on how funds are used and what impact is achieved. Typical target outcomes include:

Scaling transition: More mentoring matches, more coaching hours, and more successful entries into training, education, or employment.

Strengthening municipal resilience: Practical projects with municipalities/operators/organizations (e.g., playbooks, exercises, pilot measures) that demonstrably increase crisis readiness.

Membership is the central lever to sustain impact and community over time. We differentiate three member groups:

Veterans & Reservists: Access to mentoring, operator-to-business formats, a peer network, and pathways into civilian opportunities.

Corporate Members: Companies seeking veteran talent and defence/security know-how — and willing to actively support transition and resilience programs.

Supporting Members: Foundations, associations, and individuals who contribute through expertise, networks, or financial support.
Funding sources include donations and contributions from the b6 ecosystem (e.g., proceeds and donations from b6 commercial entities), membership contributions, and project-based support.
