Jan Hesselbarth leads the Defence function at Bravo Six, bringing over 20 years of operational and strategic leadership across the Bundeswehr, federal institutions, and the private sector. A qualified paratrooper NCO, military parachuting instructor, and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), he later commanded Jägerbataillon 91's 5th company and held the federal-level territorial and Host Nation Support mandate at Federal Command Hamburg. His advisory work spans NATO missions, programmes involving up to 1,000 personnel, training contributions for more than 5,000 Bundeswehr personnel, and co-authorship of a nationwide maritime security study for the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Personal

Raised in Schleswig-Holstein, Hesselbarth entered the Bundeswehr as a paratrooper before moving into the officer track. After a deployment to Kunduz/Afghanistan he transitioned into entrepreneurship alongside continued defence engagement — founding a consultancy and a software company, expanding into leadership development from 2017, and being publicly recognised by the BVMW in 2024 as head of one of Hamburg's defence companies.
