During his tenure, the German Navy established the multinational Commander Taskforce (CTF) Baltic - a milestone for NATO - and deepend the strategic German-Norwegian naval partnership, including cooperation on submarines, maritime patrol aircraft, missile development, and joint exercises. Frank Lenski combines technical depth, operational credibility, and calm senior leadership shaped over more than four decades of naval service. Born on 13 December 1961, he entered the Bundeswehr in 1981, completed his naval officer training at the Naval Academy Mürwik and aboard the training ships Gorch Fock and Deutschland, went on to study Aerospace Engineering at the Bundeswehr University Munich, and later qualified in the United Kingdom on the Sea Lynx Mk88 weapons system. This combination of engineering discipline and operational service would become a defining characteristic of his professional profile.
