Lieutenant General (Ret) Barbero works with international companies, operating in global markets at the intersection of defense, AI, finance and investment, advanced infrastructure, and emerging dual-use technologies.  He has an established network across the United States, Europe, Turkey, and the MENA Regions coordinating with senior political, security, and business leaders to develop business projects and investment opportunities.

In both his military leadership and business experience, he brings unique experience in setting a strategic vision for organizations, driven by data and metrics, to ensure alignment on key priorities and success in achieving long-term goals.  He is a Board Member, Board Chaiman or Senior Advisor to several US and international companies.

He brings to Bravo Six extensive experience with NATO. As a Colonel he served as the Executive Officer to the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT) for 36 months.  Most notably, he also served as the Commanding General of the NATO Training Mission–Iraq (NTM-I) and commanded all NATO forces in Iraq for 17 months.

Personal

Barbero served as a career Infantry leader, who has served in leadership assignments and commanded forces at every grade, from Lieutenant-to-Lieutenant General.

While a General Officer, he served 46 months in Iraq over three separate combat tours of duty, coordinating intricate political-military operations, working with allies, senior foreign government and coalition leaders, while commanding large, complex US and NATO organizations and managing a $4 Billion budget and $13 Billion Foreign Military Sales program.

Lieutenant General Barbero, was recently awarded an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Humanities, from Xavier University in 2026.
